Polymerization

PBT is polymerized via the polycondensation of 1,4-butandiol with either terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalic acid.

Characteristics
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Fast cycle injection molding properties based on high
         crystallization rate
  • Low moisture absorption rate and good
         dimensional stability
  • Good friction and wear properties
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good electrical properties and minimal change with
        temperature and humidity
  • Good anti-creep and anti-fatigue properties
  • Good thermal property and offers long term heat
         resistance up to 120~130℃
  • Flame retardant grades are UL94 V-0 rate.
